Who We Serve

Industries That Rely on Seattle Boxes

Corrugated packaging touches virtually every industry. Here are the sectors where we deliver the most value — and where our clients see the biggest cost savings and sustainability gains.

E-Commerce & Fulfillment

High-volume shipping operations that burn through corrugated packaging daily. We supply right-sized used boxes and pick up surplus at recurring intervals.

Manufacturing

Factories and production lines generate consistent corrugated waste and need reliable packaging for outbound shipments. We handle both sides of that equation.

Retail & Grocery

Retail stores and grocery chains receive massive volumes of corrugated weekly. We collect, sort, and recycle or resell that material efficiently.

Distribution & Warehousing

Distribution centers are our single largest source of quality used boxes and our biggest buyers. We operate dedicated recurring routes for DC accounts.

Moving & Storage

Moving companies and self-storage facilities need affordable, clean boxes in predictable sizes. Our graded used boxes are perfect for this market.

Agriculture & Produce

Farms, nurseries, and produce packers use corrugated gaylords and specialty boxes seasonally. We supply, collect, and reprocess agricultural packaging.

Food & Beverage

Breweries, food processors, and restaurants generate corrugated waste that requires careful handling due to contamination concerns. We manage the full recycling stream.

Healthcare & Pharmaceuticals

Medical supply chains demand reliable packaging with traceability. Our reprocessed boxes meet stringent quality standards for non-sterile supply chain applications.

Construction & Trades

Jobsites produce large volumes of corrugated packaging from materials deliveries. We provide roll-off container service and scheduled pickups for construction sites.

Technology & Electronics

Tech companies shipping fragile equipment need double-wall and reinforced packaging. We supply heavy-duty used boxes and custom reprocessed solutions.

Sustainability First

Every Box We Handle Stays Out of the Landfill

The corrugated packaging industry generates over 30 million tons of waste annually in the United States alone. At Seattle Boxes, every service we offer is designed around a single principle: keep corrugated materials in productive use for as long as possible, and recycle responsibly when reuse is no longer viable.

Our closed-loop approach — buying surplus, selling quality used boxes, reprocessing damaged containers, and recycling end-of-life materials — means our clients participate in a genuine circular economy. We track diversion rates, issue recycling certificates, and provide sustainability data you can use in ESG and annual reports.

Carbon Offset Tracking

Every ton of corrugated reused instead of manufactured new prevents approximately 1.5 metric tons of CO2 emissions. We calculate and document your offset with every transaction.

Water Conservation

Corrugated manufacturing is water-intensive, consuming 7-10 gallons per pound of fiber. Our reuse program conserves an estimated 14 million gallons annually.

Fiber Preservation

Each corrugated box can be reused 3-7 times before fibers degrade. By maximizing reuse cycles before recycling, we extend the productive life of forest resources by up to 700%.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common Questions About Our Services

What areas do you serve?

Our core service area covers the greater Seattle metropolitan region including Seattle, Bellevue, Tacoma, Everett, Renton, Kent, and surrounding cities. We provide same-day service within this core zone. Our extended service area reaches from Bellingham in the north to Olympia in the south, and east to Ellensburg. Truckload-quantity orders and pickups can be arranged throughout western Washington and into Oregon by special arrangement.

Is there a minimum order or pickup quantity?

For free on-site pickup, we require a minimum of 200 standard boxes, 20 gaylords, or 5 OCC bales. For box purchases, there is no minimum for customer pickup at our facility. Delivery minimums vary by zone — our core zone has no delivery minimum, while extended and regional zones may require pallet-quantity or truckload orders for free delivery. Contact us for specifics on your location.

How fast can you provide service?

Same-day pickup and delivery is available within our core service area for requests confirmed before 10:00 AM. Next-day service is guaranteed for requests confirmed by 2:00 PM. Standard service is scheduled within 2-3 business days. Recurring route customers receive standing service on their designated day with no need to call ahead.

Do you provide sustainability documentation?

Yes. We issue recycling certificates, diversion reports, environmental impact statements, and chain-of-custody documentation. These reports are formatted to support ESG disclosures, B Corp certification, LEED credit applications, and Washington State recycling compliance requirements. Automated monthly reporting is included at no additional cost for recurring service accounts.

Can I both sell boxes to you and buy boxes from you?

Absolutely. Many of our clients do exactly that. You sell us your surplus or damaged corrugated and buy the sizes and grades you need for your outbound operations. We can often offset purchases against sales, simplifying your accounting and reducing net cost. Our Business and Enterprise packages are designed specifically for this type of two-way relationship.

What payment methods do you accept?

For box purchases, we accept company checks, ACH transfers, credit cards, and NET-30 terms for approved accounts. For box buyback payments, we issue payment via check or direct deposit within 5 business days of final grading. Enterprise accounts can arrange custom billing cycles to match their AP/AR processes.

Are used boxes safe for shipping products to customers?

Yes. Our Premium (Like New) and Standard (Good Condition) grades are fully suitable for customer-facing shipments. Every box we sell is structurally sound and inspected for integrity. Premium-grade boxes are virtually indistinguishable from new. Many e-commerce businesses, subscription box companies, and retailers use our graded used boxes for direct-to-consumer shipping without issue.

How do your prices compare to buying new corrugated?

Used boxes from Seattle Boxes typically cost 40-60% less than equivalent new corrugated from a manufacturer. Reprocessed boxes (repaired, resized, or reconditioned) save 55-70% compared to new. When factoring in the elimination of custom die costs ($300-800 per SKU for new boxes), the savings can be even more dramatic for custom sizes.

What happens to boxes that cannot be reused or reprocessed?

Material that does not qualify for resale or reprocessing enters our recycling stream. It is baled at our facility and shipped to domestic paper mills where it is repulped and remanufactured into new corrugated linerboard. We never landfill usable corrugated material, and we do not export OCC to overseas markets. Our overall material recovery rate is 92%.

Do you offer long-term contracts?

Yes. We offer 6-month and 12-month service agreements with locked-in pricing, guaranteed service levels, and priority scheduling. Contract customers receive our best per-unit rates on purchases and our highest buyback prices on sales. There is no penalty for exceeding contracted volumes — additional volume is priced at the same contracted rate.
