ECT Ratings Explained

The Edge Crush Test (ECT) measures how much top-to-bottom force the board can take before crushing. A higher number means stronger stacking. Ask your supplier for the rated load of a specific box.

Box Style Guide

RSC (Regular Slotted)

All four flaps are the same length and meet in the center. The most common, economical style.

HSC (Half Slotted)

Bottom flaps only, with an open top. Used with a lid or for display and picking.

FOL (Full Overlap)

Flaps overlap fully for a double-thick top and bottom and extra stacking strength.

Die-Cut Mailer

A one-piece, tuck-top box that needs no tape. Common for e-commerce and subscriptions.

Telescoping Box

A separate lid slides over the base. Good for flat or thin items.

Partition / Cell Box

Built-in dividers keep bottles, jars, and parts apart.
