Packaging Guide by Product Type
Fragile Items (Glass, Ceramics, Art)
Wrap each item individually in bubble wrap or honeycomb paper (minimum 2 layers). Place in a box with at least 2 inches of cushioning on all six sides. Use foam inserts or molded pulp for exact-fit protection. Apply FRAGILE labels on all sides. Consider double-boxing for high-value items.
Recommended accessories: Bubble wrap, foam inserts, molded pulp, corner protectors, FRAGILE labels
Heavy Items (Tools, Parts, Hardware)
Select a double-wall or triple-wall box with 48+ ECT rating. Use edge protectors inside the box to prevent product from puncturing walls. Reinforce bottom seam with H-tape pattern. Add corner protectors to the exterior before strapping. Stretch-wrap the item to a pallet base for gaylord-level loads.
Recommended accessories: Edge protectors, corner protectors, heavy-duty tape, stretch wrap, banding
Multiple Small Items (Components, Bottles)
Use cell dividers to create individual compartments — each item gets its own protected space. Fill remaining void space with biodegradable peanuts or crinkle-cut paper. Seal with water-activated tape for tamper evidence. Apply orientation labels if items must stay upright.
Recommended accessories: Cell dividers, packing peanuts (bio), crinkle-cut paper, WAT tape, labels
Liquids & Powders
Line the box interior with a polyethylene bag or wrap for spill containment. Place absorbent pads under and around containers. Use cell dividers to keep bottles upright and separated. Seal all flaps with water-activated tape. Apply KEEP UPRIGHT and FRAGILE labels.
Recommended accessories: Poly liners, absorbent pads, cell dividers, WAT tape, orientation labels
Electronics & Tech Products
Use anti-static bubble wrap or anti-static PE foam for ESD-sensitive components. Custom foam cradles with exact product contours provide the best protection. Place silica gel packets inside for moisture control. Double-box high-value items with 2+ inches of cushioning between inner and outer boxes.
Recommended accessories: Anti-static foam, anti-static bubble wrap, silica gel, custom foam inserts
Flat Items (Art, Mirrors, Panels)
Use telescoping boxes or five-panel wraps for adjustable-thickness protection. Apply corrugated pads on both faces. Use corner protectors on all four corners. For mirrors and glass, apply painter tape in an X pattern across the face to contain shards in case of breakage. Mark FLAT - DO NOT BEND.
Recommended accessories: Telescoping boxes, corrugated pads, corner protectors, flat labels
Our Commitment to Eco-Friendly Accessories
We believe every layer of packaging — not just the box — should be as sustainable as possible. That is why we actively source and recommend green alternatives for every product category we carry.
Paper over Plastic
Wherever performance allows, we recommend paper-based alternatives: honeycomb wrap instead of bubble wrap, kraft paper tape instead of plastic tape, and molded pulp instead of foam. These materials are recyclable, compostable, and sourced from renewable fiber.
Biodegradable Fills
Our cornstarch packing peanuts dissolve in water and fully compost in 90 days. Crinkle-cut kraft paper and corrugated shredding are also available as zero-waste void-fill options that your customers can recycle with their box.
Right-Sizing Guidance
The most sustainable accessory is the one you do not need. We help customers right-size their boxes to minimize void space, which reduces the amount of fill material required — saving money and waste simultaneously.

How to Choose: Quick Guides
Choosing the Right Tape
For general shipping in climate-controlled environments, acrylic tape is the most economical. For high-speed packing lines, choose hot-melt for instant grab. In cold environments (warehouses below 45 degrees F), switch to acrylic or natural rubber. For e-commerce where customers value sustainability and tamper evidence, water-activated kraft tape is the premium choice.
Choosing the Right Cushioning
Match cushioning to product fragility: high-value electronics need custom foam inserts, moderate fragility items work well with bubble wrap or honeycomb paper, and non-fragile items only need void fill (peanuts or crinkle paper) to prevent shifting. Target 2 inches of cushioning on all sides for fragile items, 1 inch for moderate items.
Choosing the Right Void Fill
Packing peanuts excel for irregular shapes where conformability matters. Air pillows work for large voids in high-volume operations. Crinkle-cut paper provides a premium presentation for e-commerce unboxing. Corrugated shredding is the most economical option for simple void prevention.
Choosing the Right Stretch Wrap
Hand wrap (70-80 gauge) is ideal for operations wrapping fewer than 15 pallets per day. Machine wrap (60-120 gauge) is cost-effective above 15 pallets per day and provides more consistent tension. Use pre-stretched film for ergonomic benefits — it requires 50% less effort to apply and achieves the same holding force.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you sell accessories without buying boxes?
Absolutely. You can order any accessory independently — you do not need to buy boxes from us. However, bundling accessories with a box order often qualifies for additional discounts.
What is the minimum order for accessories?
Most accessories have low minimums: tape by the roll (or case of 36 for best pricing), bubble wrap by the roll, peanuts by the bag, dividers by sets of 25, and labels by the roll of 500. Foam inserts require a minimum of 25 units for custom work.
Can you create custom-sized dividers for my product?
Yes. Send us your box internal dimensions and the number/size of cells you need, and we will produce custom dividers. Turnaround is 3-5 business days for first orders. MOQ is 50 sets.
Are biodegradable peanuts really as protective as EPS?
Yes. Independent testing shows cornstarch peanuts provide equivalent shock absorption and void-fill performance to traditional EPS peanuts. The main difference is that they dissolve in water and compost in 90 days, while EPS persists in the environment for hundreds of years.
Do you offer packing station setup consultation?
Yes. For businesses processing more than 50 packages per day, we offer a free packing station audit. We evaluate your workflow, recommend optimal accessories, and suggest layout improvements that can reduce packing time by 20-40%. Contact us to schedule.
Can I get samples of eco-friendly alternatives to test?
Absolutely. We offer free sample packs of our eco-friendly alternatives: honeycomb paper wrap, cornstarch peanuts, water-activated tape, and molded pulp inserts. Contact us and we will send a sample kit within 2 business days.
Bulk Pricing Available
All accessories are available in bulk at volume discounts. Tape by the case, bubble wrap by the pallet, dividers by the thousand — the more you order, the more you save. We also offer recurring-order pricing for businesses with predictable monthly needs.
